About Beyond the Wheat
Greetings. I am Cherie Funderburg and I’ve been living gluten-free since 02/03. This blog details my life as a Celiac. Recipes, baking tips, places to dine, travel, more. A gluten-free life.
My beloved husband and teen son graciously agreed to live in a gluten-free home so upon my celiac diagnosis, I cleansed my house and they now eat GF along with me. All recipes I devise feed the three of us as well as the remainder of my non-gluten-intolerant family. It’s my goal to create food that is not only delicious but appeals to all people, regardless of their gluten status.
I was the owner of Glutenada until its closure in late June 2009. I sold a few dozen different gluten-free mixes and then branched into baked goods available locally and through my website. Unfortunately, the economy being what it was at the time, I was forced to close my doors after a several year run. I currently run this blog and can be found in the kitchen, tweaking and playing with all types of recipes.
This blog is filled with my own recipes, family recipes I’ve made gluten-free, product reviews, and other gluten-free information that will help your own gluten-free life. The photos are taken by me and as I’m no photographer, they vary wildly in how nice they look. (I really need to stop baking at midnight and trying to photograph in the dim light my household bulbs provide.. lol)
I love receiving feedback and welcome email and comments from readers. If you’d like to email me you can do so to cherie-AT-beyondthewheat.com (please manually type that in – I’m hiding from the spam bots).
I will be posting all the Glutenada mix recipes as time allows. These are available under the Glutenada Mixes Recipes tab at the top. I had kicked around the idea of releasing these as an e-cookbook but decided to give them to everyone for free. Gluten-free living is costly enough as it is so I’m happy to help as I’m able.
That’s about it. I hope you enjoy my little gluten-free corner of the internet.
